Counselling Schedule :

As per the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board Act, 2014, the State Govt. has conferred the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) the status of a Statutory Body.

Subject to the provisions of this Act, the WBJEEB shall have to conduct centralized counseling and admission process of the merit listed candidates seeking admission to 2nd Year (3rd Semester) of Engineering/Pharmacy Degree Colleges/Institutions and Universities of West Bengal through counseling under LATERAL ENTRY scheme in the academic session 2016-17.

For admission into the 2nd year (3rd Semester) of Engineering/Pharmacy Degree courses, it is essential for the candidates to have appeared in the State Common Entrance Examination i.e. JELET – 2016 and to secure a rank and it has been decided by the State Government in the Higher Education Department to continue the admission process on the basis of the norms of the AICTE and other regulatory authorities, the following guidelines and instruction for centralized counseling and admission in the 2nd Year (3rd Semester) of Engineering/Pharmacy Degree course for academic session 2016-17 are provided hereunder :

Period of Counselling :
29th August 2016 to 2nd September 2016 (as per schedule hosted in Board’ website).

Counseling Form :
Counseling Form can be down-loaded from Board’s website : wbjeeb.in from 25th August 2016. Candidates should bring the downloaded and duly signed Counselling form (as stated above) with them on the day of counselling.

Counselling Fee and e-challan :
Candidates have to pay Counselling fee of Rs. 510/- by either to any branch of Allahabad Bank during banking hours on and from 26th August 2016 to 2nd September 2016 via offline method through system generated e-challan which can be downloaded from the website wbjeeb.in from 25.08.2016 or they can submit counseling fee by online method using Debit card/Credit card/ net banking ( any one ) through the link which is available in the website wbjeeb.in from 25th August 2016 to 1st September 2016 till midnight .

Eligibility criteria :
Diploma holders in Engineering/Technological/Pharmacy have to pass Diploma Examination from an AICTE approved Institution with at least 45% marks considering all semesters/parts in Diploma examination without any back paper(s) (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology.

B.Sc. Degree holders have to pass B.Sc. from a recognized University as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and also have to pass higher secondary.(10 + 2) with Mathematics as a subject.

Diploma and B.Sc. Degree holders have to be merit listed in the JELET – 2016 conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board to become eligible for admission under Lateral Entry Scheme.

For Jadavpur University :
B.Sc. Degree holders are not eligible for admission to Jadavpur University. For admission to Jadavpur University H.S. (10 + 2) or equivalent examination passed diploma holders shall only be eligible.

For Pharmacy Courses :
B.Sc. Degree holders are not eligible for admission to B.Pharm, Course under this scheme. Other conditions of lateral entry admission will remain unchanged.

Candidates belonging to B.Sc. stream and taking admission to colleges affiliated to MAKAUT (formerly known as WBUT) shall have to pass in the subjects of Engineering Graphics, Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the 1st year Engineering & Technology Programme along with the subjects offered in the second year of Engineering & Technology Programme.

B.Sc. candidates admitted through Lateral Entry Programme to other universities i.e. other than MAKAUT, the subjects to be read along with the 2nd year courses may be prescribed similarly by the concerned university.

For B.Sc. candidates, upper age limit is 27 years as on 31.12.2016.

Candidates belonging to B.Sc. stream shall be considered only after offering the seats for Lateral Entry to the candidates belonging to the Engg./Tech. Diploma holders if there is availability of appropriate vacancy.
