Applications are invited for admission in Ph.D. Programme through Entrance Test

All related details will be available on University website from 16-July-2015. Candidates in their relevant subjects may apply through Online Application Forms. Application forms will be available on University website i.e. dsrrau.org and raujodhpur.org from 16-July-2015. Last date of Application form submission is 31-July-2015. Application fee for General and OBC candidates is Rs. 3000/- and for SC and ST candidates fee is Rs. 1500/- respectlively.

Scheduled for the Entrance Test (PPET 2014-15) is 05-Aug-2015, from 02:00 PM to 03:30 PM and venue is University’s Administrative Block, Karwar, Jodhpur.

These rules will be known as Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University, Jodhpur Ph.D. Entrance Test Rules, hereinafter will be mentioned as PPET 2014-15 Rules, which will be applicable in conducting Pre-Ph.D. Entrance Test and for conducting Pre-Ph.D. course work.

Eliigibiliity: Candidate should possess the PG Degree of Ayurved Vachaspati [M.D./M.S.(Ayurved)] in subject concerned from the University of Rajasthan/Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University, Jodhpur or their equivalent examination recognized by the Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University, Jodhpur and recognized by CCIM.

Candidate appearing in final year P.G. examination may also apply with the condition that they will submit the certificate of their passing of P.G. degree, issued by the University at the time of counselling of PPET otherwise their candidature for the PPET 2014-15 will not be considered.

Reservations: The provision of reservation, as in force in the University, shall also apply to the Ph.D. Programme.

Fellowship: Fellowship amount and other rules regarding fellowship are applicable as per Institutions (National Institute of Ayurved, Jaipur and Madan Mohan Malviya Govt. Ayurvedic College, Udaipur) in which candidate selected by Pre-Ph.D. Entrance Test.

The candidate(s) deemed to be qualified in PPET 2014-15 for further counselling / interview only if they secure 50% or higher marks.

On a notified date by the Department concerned, the candidates who have qualified Entrance Test shall have to appear for an interview along with documents before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC) for approval of Research Supervisor. The Supervisor shall be approved by Departmental Research Committee (DRC), as far as possible, taking into consideration the choice of teachers (at least 3, if possible) given by the candidate and the consent of concerned teachers. In other cases the supervisor will be approved by the Departmental Research Committee (DRC) on basis of merit, specialization of supervisor and the interest area of the student.

After approval of the Supervisor, an eligible candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. programme shall apply for Provisional Admission to the Department concerned in the prescribed application form along with registration fee as may be prescribed from time to time by the University. The candidate will also submit three copies of his/her Ph.D. research proposal along with the application through his/her approved Supervisor. The Pre-Submission Presentation of the candidates will be placed before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC). The decision of the Departmental Research Committee (DRC) shall be placed before Academic Branch.

The admission of the candidates for the Ph.D. degree shall be considered as provisional till the candidate successfully completes the Pre-Ph.D. course work.

Every candidate having been provisionally admitted to a Ph.D. programme shall be required to undertake and successfully complete the prescribed course-work of duration of one semester. The course work shall include four papers of 4 hours teaching per week.

a. The course work and examination will be conducted at the Department level.

b. The curse work shall be treated as Pre-Ph.D. preparations.

c. The subject-wise syllabus for Pre-Ph.D. course work will be prepared by concerned Department Council. It will also determine the scheme of examination for the coursework.

d. There will be one paper Research Methodology, which may include quantitative methods, research aptitudes and computer applications as suitable to the Ph.D. programme.

e. The second paper may involve reviewing of published research work in the relevant field under supervision of the assigned supervisor.

f. The third and fourth paper may be designed as per requirements of the area of research and may have elective options so that the candidate may select appropriate course in consultation with concerned supervisors.

g. The minimum qualifying marks in the course work shall be 50% or equivalent grade for the registration for Ph.D.

h. In case the candidate fails to obtain qualifying marks in the course work examination, he/she shall be given one more chance.
