IIP PhD Program
CSIR-IIP has research program leading to Ph.D. degree under the disciplines of chemical and biological sciences.

The institute provides a vibrant and motivating atmosphere, which fosters creativity and encourages innovative thinking and research. CSIR-IIP selects JRFs fellows followed by an interview. Successful candidates are eligible to be registered as PhD candidates under AcSIR.
The PhD program consists of flexible course work, laboratory training, and research project to demonstrate attainment of a high degree of scientific ability which is followed by advanced research leading to a PhD thesis on a specific topic. The PhD program is normally completed in 3-5 years. During the first year, the students have to go through a course work covering basic and advanced topics. The students are encouraged to take courses in inter-disciplinary areas. Apart from the subject courses, short courses in research methodology, scientific communication and laboratory safety are mandatory for all the students.
Selection Procedure :
Shortlisted candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be called for test and / or interview. Based on the academic record and performance of the candidates in the test and / or interview, the committee recommends names of the selected candidates for the PhD program. Final list of selected candidates for PhD program will be announced on this webpage and AcSIR webpage. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the screening test and/or interview or at the time of joining.

Academics Program :
CSIR-IIP invites applications for PhD program under the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) in Chemical Science and Chemical Engineering from eligible candidates, for the January 2016 session. Interested candidates are requested to go through the eligibility criteria given below.
Eligibility :
PhD in Chemical Science :
Master’s degree with a keen sense of scientific enquiry for pursuing advanced research in frontier areas of chemical Sciences. The candidate should be having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/ SRF of various funding agencies, e.g. CSIR, UGC, DBT, DST etc.), INSPIRE or other equivalent fellowships.
PhD in Chemical Engineering :
(a) Candidates with a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering having a good academic record and valid UGC/CSIR-JRF/ SRF or equivalent fellowship can apply.
OR
(b) Candidates having following qualifications are eligible to apply: B.E. / B.Tech with CGPA 8.5 / 85% Marks + valid GATE / NET (Engg) (Rank < 2000)
