Research Entrance Test (RET) for admission to Ph.D. program in Banasthali Vidyapith
Banasthali Vidyapith, a premier women’s university, Reaccredited “A” by NAAC, offers doctoral research programs in various subjects as mentioned on its website. For admission to these programs, the Vidyapith will organize an online entrance test on Thursday, 14th May 2015.

All those interested in admission should register for the RET. The details of syllabi, mode of examination, pattern of question paper, etc. have been uploaded on the website.

Important dates:
RET to be held on: Thursday, 14th May 2015
Time for RET Exam. : 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM

Those candidates who are pursuing their research work or registered for Ph.D. Programme may appear for Course Work Exam. The Course Work Exam will also be held on 14th May, 2015 form 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Last date for sending the completed registration form: 5th May, 2015 and Online form will be available for both Exams after 4th April, 2015

Instructions to candidates seeking admission in Ph.D Programme :
1. Eligibility:
A candidate who has obtained a Master’s degree in the subject or related field with at least 55% marks in aggregate or has qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission may apply for Admission for the Ph.D. degree for pursuing her research work under the guidance of a supervisor approved by the Vidyapith. Every applicant is expected to attach Master’s degree marks sheet along with the application. Every candidate will appear in the Research Entrance Test (RET) which will be conducted online. Qualifying RET is a mandatory requirement for enrollment, and until that stage, the admission shall be treated as provisional.

Note: A candidate who has a minimum 5 years work experience (Teaching/Industrial/Research) may be given relaxation of 5% by the Vice-Chancellor for registration for Ph.D Programme.

2. Exemption from the requirement of appearing in RET:
(i) A candidate who have qualified NET, SLET, GATE or M.Phil. (If the candidate was admitted to M.Phil. through a research entrance test) may be exempted from the entrance test.
(ii) A candidate belonging to the Faculty of Fine Arts (Visual Art, Music & Dance) and Design, will be exempted from the entrance examination. Such candidates should contact the research section separately.

3. Duration of Research Entrance Test : 2 Hours (11:00 AM to 01:00 PM)
4. Duration of Course Work Exam. : 2 Hours (03:00 PM to 05:00 PM)

5. Venue: Banasthali Vidyapith (Main Campus). Candidates have to report by 09.00 AM at Surya Mandir (IT Centre) Banasthali Vidyapith on the examination date.

6. Mode of Examination : Online
7. There will not be any negative marking.

8. Pattern of the RET question paper: Total 100 multiple choice questions (All carry equal marks)
30 questions on Research Aptitude
70 questions on Relevant Subject

9. Pattern of the Course Work Exam: Total 60 multiple choice questions in every paper (All carry equal marks)

2. IT Based Research Techniques
