PMET Score Normalization :
In order to do the Score Normalization for PMET-2016, with a view to normalize the difficulty level in the two shifts(Morning and Evening), the University has decided to follow the norms/procedure for score normalization followed and applied by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi(AIIMS) in the Computer Based Test(CBT)(Online) Entrance Examination conducted by AIIMS for admission to the MBBS course, as embodied in Clause 8.8 of the Prospectus for MBBS Course 2016 issued by AIIMS.

This procedure employed by AIIMS, a premier medical institution of national importance, is also followed by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry(JIPMER), which is also an institute of national importance.

The score normalization formula, based on standard deviation, earlier suggested by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), through whom the University conducted PMET-2016 Online examination, and put up on the website on 06-06-2016, has been found after consultation with AIIMS, JIPMER and TCS to be not appropriate for entrance examinations to medical institutions, for which the percentile method followed by AIIMS is considered to be the most objective method of normalization.
