Common Entrance Test CET :
CIFNET invites online applications from the candidates who have completed SSLC/HSC with 50% marks in Mathematics And Science for admission into BFSc(NS)/VNC/MFC courses for the year 2017-18.

BACHELOR OF FISHERY SCIENCE (NAUTICAL SCIENCE)(2017-2021)
COURSE DETAILS :
1. Four year degree programme ( 8 semester) with integrated practical & on board training on ocean going fishing vessels
2. Affiliated to CUSAT, Kochi and approved by DG Shipping, Mumbai
3. The course will be conducted at CIFNET, Kochi only.
ELIGIBILITY: 10 + 2 with minimum 50% marks in English and Mathematics and aggregate marks in other Science subjects and only pass in 10 + 2 is enough for SC/ST and the candidates, who are appearing for 10+2 exams during March, 2017 are also eligible.
AGE : 17 to 20 years as on 1st October, 2017
Intake Capacity: 33 seats (Open – 31, NRI – 1, Foreign National – 1)
MODE OF SELECTION: Common Entrance Test, Academic merit, Interview

VESSEL NAVIGATOR COURSE (VNC) / MARINE FITTER COURSE (MFC) (2017-2019)
COURSE DETAILS :
1. Two years trade course ( 4 semester) with practical training on board fishing vessel out at sea and these Courses introduced by DGET, New Delhi under Craftsmen Training Scheme of NCVT
2. The courses are conducted at CIFNET Kochi/Chennai/Visakhapatnam
ELIGIBILITY: Pass in 10th Standard or equivalent with 50% marks in Mathematics and Science separately and the candidates, who are appearing for 10th exams during March, 2017 are also eligible.
AGE : 16 to 20 yrs as on 1st August 2017.Upper Age is relaxable to SC/ST by 5yrs
Intake capacity: VNC – 48, MFC – 48 (@ 16 seats each at Kochi, Chennai, Vizag)
MODE OF SELECTION: All India basis Common Entrance Test(CET)
CET Centre: Kochi, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Delhi, Kolkata,Puri,Patna,Mangalore,Pot Blair,Pondicherry and Kakkinada
Note: The Selected candidates will be paid Rs.1500/- per month as stipend.
Application fee: Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- for General and Rs. 150/- for SC/ST

Candidates must apply only through online from second week of April 2017 and the last date to apply for the course will be notified in the website.
The hard copy (print out) of the application generated by computer along with Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Senior Administrative Officer,CIFNET” payable at Ernakulam-16 towards Application fee and necessary certificates (SSLC/ HSC/Community, if SC/ST) may be forwarded to THE DIRECTOR, CIFNET, FINE ARTS AVENUE, ERNAKULAM-682016.
How to apply :
(1) For online application the candidates are instructed to Click on ‘New Candidate Registration” link before sign in.
(2) After successful registration, user name and password will be generated and send to your email & registered mobile
(3) Using this user name and password, login and change your password, the same may be noted for successive login till completion of admission process.
(4) Login with your user name and password, complete the filling up of online application.
The candidates who are interested to get admission into BFSc(NS)/VNC/MFC are instructed to refer the eligible criteria of respective courses.
The eligible candidates are hereby instructed to make a Demand Draft from any Nationalized Bank for the prescribed amount of application fee drawn in favour of “Senior Administrative Officer, CIFNET” payable at Ernakulam-16 before online registration.
After successful registration, the hard copy of the confirmation page along with demand draft towards application fee, attested copy of SSLC(10th)/HSC(12th), age, experience (if any) and community certificate (in case of SC/ST) and nativity certificate (For those who are applying in other state quota) should reach The Director, Central Institute of Fisheries, Nautical and engineering Training (CIFNET), Fine Arts Avenue, Kochi – 682016.
