GSAT :

Candidates seeking admission to various M.Sc. programmes of GITAM Institute of Science, GITAM University are required to appear for GITAM Science Admission Test (GSAT – 2017) to be held at various centres in Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India. Admission is based on the rank obtained in the entrance test.

Eligibility for Postgraduate Programmes :

5 M.Sc. Biochemistry B.Sc. with Life Sciences / Chemistry / B.A.Home Science / B.Tech. in allied subjects /B.Pharm / B.P.T. / M.L.T
6 M.Sc. Biotechnology
7 M.Sc. Microbiology
8 M.Sc. Food Science & Technology
9 M.Sc. Bioinformatics Same as Life Science programs (5-8) (or) B.Sc. with Mathematics /Physics / Computer Science
10 M.Sc. Environmental Science First preference will be given to BEM candidates. The remaining seats will be allotted to candidates with B.Sc. in Life Sciences or Physical Sciences / B. Tech. / B. Pharm.
11 Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Any degree with Mathematics at +2 level or Degree level or equivalent examination

*The candidate should pass the above mentioned qualifying Degree with 50% Marks or second class in group (optional) subjects.

TEST PROCEDURE :
** Candidates are advised to come to the examination hall at least half an hour before the commencement of the test.
** Candidates will not be admitted into the examination hall without hall ticket or after the commencement of the test. They will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the stipulated time.
** Calculators, cell phones, books, papers, logarithm tables, slide-rule or any other calculating aids are not allowed into the examination hall.
** Candidates should answer only on the answer sheet.
** The Chief Superintendent of the test centre can take disciplinary action on candidates involved in indiscipline, malpractice, impersonation, etc., and the answer scripts of such candidates will not be valued.

MERIT RANK :
All candidates will be awarded GSAT – 2017 test-wise rank as per marks secured in the test appeared and they will be kept on the website.

RESERVATION OF SEATS :
Admission to various courses of study shall be made on the basis of GSAT – 2017 rank and eligibility criteria subject to the rule of reservation as applicable to GITAM University

IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE :
** Hall tickets will be sent by post or can be downloaded from the website (tentative).
** The University is not responsible for delay in receipt or loss of application.
** In all matters in the conduct of GSAT – 2017, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor will be final. All disputes pertaining to GSAT – 2017 shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Visakhapatnam.
** Every effort has been made by GITAM University to ensure the correctness of the information provided in this document. However, in case of a conflict in interpretation, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor is final and binding on those who apply for GSAT – 2017.

How to apply :
** Applications can be downloaded from GITAM website gitam.edu.
** Applications can be obtained by post, from Principal, GITAM Institute of Science by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name with complete mailing address, accompanied by DD for Rs.350/- (inclusive of Test fee Rs. 300/-) drawn in favour of GITAM University payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank. Request by post will be accepted till 15th April 2017. The test fee for Five year Integrated M.Sc. Chemistry sponsored by Laurus Labs is Rs. 500.
** Candidates appearing for more than one test need to submit separate application along with the prescribed fee of Rs.300/- for each test.

Filled in applications along with attested copies of the following certificates and the prescribed fee of Rs.300/- or Rs. 500 as the case may be should reach the Principal, GITAM Institute of Science, GITAM UNIVERSITY, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam-530 045, A.P., India on or before 25.04.2017 for PG programs and on or before 25-05-2017 for UG and Integrated programs.

** Degree / Provisional Certificate of the qualifying degree examination in the case of candidates appearing for PG programmes. Intermediate / 10 +2 certificate in the case of candidates appearing for UG programmes
** Caste Certificate issued by appropriate authority for claiming reservation under SC/ST
** Medical Certificate issued by appropriate authority for claiming under PH category
