Ministry of Culture, Government of India set up IGNCA in the year 1987 to explore, study and disseminate Indian arts, revive the dialogue between India and her neighbours, especially in South and Southeast Asia, in the areas pertaining to the arts.

Arts encompasses a wide area of studies, such as creative literature – written and oral; visual arts – architecture, sculpture, painting, graphics and general material culture; photography and films; the performing arts – music, dance and theatre; festivals with artistic dimension.

IGNCA’s Cultural Informatics Laboratory took up the task of documentation and digitization of cultural resources and developing interactive multimedia based learning resources to create the expertise in the areas of digital artifacts. IGNCA’s Conservation Laboratory is also fully equipped for the conservation work of artifacts and is having rich strength of in-house core faculty

To attract the people towards Indian art and to nurture trained manpower in the related fields, IGNCA has planned to start the following one year part-time Post Graduate Diploma Courses :

One Year (two semesters part-time) Courses:
PG Diploma in Cultural Informatics (PGDCI-approved by AICTE)
PG Diploma in Preventive Conservation (PGDPC), and
PG Diploma in Buddhist Studies (PGDBS)

Eligibility:
For Admission in:
PGDCI- Graduation (in any subject) with pre-requisite courses
PGDPC- Graduation with History/Science and related subjects
PGDBS- Graduation in any subject

Academic Calendar :
Advertisement on 23-05-2017 (Tuesday)
Last date of receiving applications 30-06-2017 (Friday)
Interviews for admission 15-07-2017 (Saturday) (from 10:00 A.M. onwards)
Notification about the admissions of candidates 20-07-2017 (Thursday)
Last date of paying the fees 03-08-2017 (Thursday)
Commencement of Course (Semester-I) 2nd week of August, 2017
Semester Exam Second week of December
Declaration of Result Last week of December
Commencement of Course (Semester-II) 3rd week of January, 2018
Semester Exam 3rd week of May
Declaration of Result 2nd week of June

PG Diploma in Cultural Informatics (PGDCI) – 25
PG Diploma in Preventive Conservation (PGDPC) – 25
PG Diploma in Buddhist Studies (PGDBS) – 50

Fee :
PGDCI- Rs. 20,000/- per student per semester
PGDPC-Rs. 20,000/- per student per semester
PGDBS-Rs. 6,000/- per student per semester
