IICD B. Des. & M. Des. Entrance Test

IICD offers the following Bachelor in Design (B. Des.) & Master in Design (M. Des.) in Crafts & Design programme recognized by Central University of Rajasthan (CUR) for the academic Session 2018-19. Degrees will be awarded by Central University of Rajasthan (CUR).

Degree Programmes Offered

B. Des. in Crafts & Design Programme recognized by CUR
Duration: 4 Years (8 semesters)
Specialisation:
i) Soft Material Design Seats: 25
ii) Hard Material Design Seats: 25
iii) Fired Material Design Seats: 25
iv) Fashion Design Seats: 25
Selection/ Assignment of Discipline
The Candidate has to opt for the specialization during fillingup the personal, other details in the Online Registration form, prior to Entrance Test.
M. Des. in Crafts & Design Programme recognized by CUR
Duration: 2 Years (4 semesters)
Specialisation:
i) Soft Material Specialisation: 20
ii) Hard Material Specialisation: 20
iii) Fired Material Specialisation: 20
Selection/ Assignment of Discipline
The Candidate has to opt for the specialization during fillingup the personal, other details in the Online Registration form, prior to Entrance Test.

Eligibility

B. Des. in Crafts & Design Programme recognized by CUR
10+2 from a recognized board of education.
Students appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

M. Des. in Crafts & Design Programme recognized by CUR
Graduates in any discipline with an aptitude towards craft, fashion or design.
Students appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.

“Candidates appearing for their qualifying examinations can also apply. Their admission will be provisional and subject to obtaining the defined eligibility latest by 31st October 2018. In case any candidate fails to submit the defined eligibility certificates by due date, he/ she will not be able to continue his/her studies at IICD.

In such cases, the semester tuition fee will not be refunded however, the admission will be valid for the next year with the new semester fees provided the defined eligibility is obtained.”

Admission Process Fee

The Admission process fee for Indian Candidates is Rs.1,500/- (Rs. One Thousand Five Hundred only) and for NRI/ Foreign National Candidates is Rs. 3000/- (Rs. Three Thousand only). The fee is non refundable.

Entrance Test Guidelines

a. General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test 35%
b. Material, Color & Conceptual Test 45%
c. Personal Interview 20%

a. General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test
Test is designed to judge the abilities such as estimation of sizes and proportion, observation, synthesis and visual interpretation and general awareness.

b. Material, Color & Conceptual Test

This test will assess the following abilities:
1. Intelligent use of materials, conceptualize and realize a 3 dimensional form, skill of handling material.
2. To observe, think and expand ideas, create solution based on a plan and strategy.
3. Ability to provide multiple solutions to the given problem with written description.
Material required for Material, Color & Conceptual Test: You must bring pens, pencils (2B, 4B & 6B), scissor, scale, cello tape, paper cutter, fevistick, eraser, color pencils/dry pastels/water color etc.

c. Interview
To evaluate the individual personality in the prospective candidates:
Aptitude to crafts
Intelligence quotient (IQ)
Communication Ability
General Awareness about Crafts & Design
Overall Personal Achievements in academics and co-curricular activities.
Portfolio – It is advisable to bring some examples of your creative work to show the interview panel. This would help them to understand your capabilities. It could be anything that you have done yourself. Sketching, painting, embroidery, photography, worked with material, or written anything creative.

Entrance Test (Part A) at eleven centers (Jammu, Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Bhopal, Kolkata, Raipur, Hyderabad, Mumbai)
a. General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test 15/04/18 (Sunday) (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM)
Declaration of Result of Entrance Test (Part A) 23/04/18 (Monday) after 4:00PM
Test date of Part B for shortlisted candidates will be announced on IICD website 25/04/18 (Wednesday) after 4:00 PM
Entrance Test (Part B) at IICD, Jaipur (Only for shortlisted candidates as per dates scheduled on 25/04/18 on IICD website)
