IIIT Undergraduate Engineering Entrance Exam

Admissions will be based on performance in an entrance examination (full computer based) and an interview, both conducted by IIIT-H. The exam is to be held on April 18, 2018 (Wednesday) across multiple cities.

Shortlisted candidates from this exam will have to clear an interview to get admitted. The last date for submission of online application is March 15, 2018.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for CSD,ECD,CND programmes :
Class 12 or equivalent qualifying Examination with an aggregate of 60% marks in Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

Eligibility for CLD programme:
Stream I : Higher Secondary / Class 12 or equivalent in Science stream with Physics and Mathematics. A keen interest in languages and an aptitude for Conceptual Analysis is essential.
Stream II : Higher Secondary / Class 12 or equivalent in Humanities, Art and Social Sciences with Mathematics. A keen interest in languages and an aptitude for Conceptual Analysis is essential.

Eligibility for CND programme:
Higher Secondary/Class 12 or equivalent in Science Stream students who have qualified NTSE/KVPY.

Sanctioned Number of Seats:
CSD : 35, ECD : 25, CND :15, CLD : 15

Entrance Exam Syllabus

Standard +2 (for e.g., CBSE) level syllabus. The questions will be probing the research orientation and inquisitiveness of the candidate. There is no fixed pattern of the exam. It may change from year to year.

Notes:
1. The test will have three parts: Part I (Maths and Logical reasoning), Part II (Aptitude) and Part III (Essays).
2. Sample questions for Part I and Part II are given below.
3. Questions in Part I can be objective as well as subjective.
4. Questions in Part II include questions on aptitude for analysing language data.
5. In Part III, you would be asked to write a couple of essays on any given** topic. This part will be evaluated only if you score above 50% in Part I and above 55% in Part II.
