Christ University Entrance Test

The School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) (SLCU), Bangalore, is approved by the Bar Council of India to conduct the B.A., LL.B. course (Honours). The school offers a five-year integrated law program, the successful completion of which will earn the student a B.A., LL.B. degree (Honours) to be awarded by CHRIST (Deemed to be University).

In addition to the mandatory courses over the ten semester program, The School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has introduced for the benefit of its students numerous other value-added courses and programs aimed at putting the student on par with standard of legal education imparted at the best international universities.

In this School of Law, knowledge of law is imparted by a teaching – learning process; teaching is supplemented by a variety of skills, such as skills in advocacy, legal writing, research, management of time.

The courses are specifically designed keeping in mind the latest development in the field of law. The course is oriented towards the industry and is aided by an advisory board which is comprised of some of the leading lights in the legal fraternity.

Special emphasis on ethics, life skills and holistic education will empower the students to achieve integrity and look forward to effective contribution to the society.

Eligibility

** Basic eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) in any stream with minimum score of 45% (Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce & Management, Sciences) from any recognised Board in India.
** Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2018 may apply with their class X and XI marks.
** Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:
** Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.
** Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels.
** *The candidates should also be below the age of 20 years as on July 01, 2018.

Admission Process

Candidates will be intimated about the Selection status (Selected / Wait Listed / Not Selected) through the “Application Status” link on the University website. The Selection results will be declared as mentioned in the important dates link.

Note: Candidates must note that if selected, admission is provisional and subject to University rules.

Details on how to process admission will be available on Offer of Admission through ‘Application Status’ link on the University website. Candidates are required to choose the preferred date and time from available options to facilitate smooth admission process.

As per UGC guidelines, fee payment has to be made through online mode. Payment options and details will be provided to selected candidates through ‘Offer of Admission’ on ‘Application status’ on the University website. Fees for first year including Admission Registration fee must be paid in full as part of the admission process.

Admission will not be processed without the presence of the candidate and the mandatory ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS and one set of photocopies mentioned below;
1. Class 10 Marks Statement (Mandatory).
2. Class 12 Marks Statement, if candidate has appeared and passed the examination (Mandatory).
3. Transfer Certificate (TC) of Class 12 from the last qualified institution (Mandatory).
4. Migration Certificate of Class 12 (applicable for all candidates except Karnataka state board applicants) (Mandatory).
5. One Stamp size and One passport size photograph formal dress with white background (Mandatory).
6. Two Copies of the Online Payment Receipt (Mandatory).
7. Copy of valid ID proof (Aadhar Card / Aadhar Enrolment Receipt).

8. Candidates falling under any of these categories (NRI / PIO / OCI / SAARC / AFRICA / ASEAN / OTHER FOREIGN NATIONALS) have to submit:
a] Copy of Passport and Visa Details (Mandatory).
b] PIO / OCI have to produce the copy of PIO / OCI card whichever is applicable (Mandatory). c] Medical Fitness Certificate (MFC) from any recognized medical practitioner certified by the Medical Council of India and
d] Resident Permit (RP) (If available while applying)

All mandatory documents must be submitted for verification during the admission process. An undertaking for pending original documents unavailable currently [applicable only for candidates writing / passing their exam in March – June 2018], must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. These documents must be submitted on or before July 15, 2018.

Failure to submit the pending documents will be treated as unsuccessful in the qualifying examination or considered “Not Eligible” and admission will be terminated from Christ University without any claim.

All admitted students must open an account at South Indian Bank, Christ University Branch as part of the admission process and must carry relevant ID proof (Aadhar Card and Pan Card). The University ID card is a smart card, which is both an ID cum ATM card with a chip containing the student personal details.

All transactions within the University campus after commencement of classes, including fee payment will be processed only through this card. It is also an access card for Library and other restricted places.

Selected candidates who fall under International student category (ISC) should register with the Foreigner Regional Registration Officer (FRRO / FRO) of the Local Police in Bengaluru, India within 14 working days from the date of admission or arriving in Bengaluru.

The date of commencement of the academic Year 2018 – 2019 will be intimated during the admission process.

Please note:
I) The University does not collect any type of capitation / donation other than the fees mentioned in the website.
II) Christ University does not authorize any Third Party / Agents / Person to apply / offer admission on its behalf. Christ University will not be responsible for applicants being misguided by such individuals / SMS / Email.
III) All those admitted to the programme will have to purchase a laptop at their own cost, if required by the department.
IV) Admitted students who wish to avail bank loan will be provided a recommendation letter on request by presenting the original fee paid receipt to the Office of Admissions.
V) The decision of the admission committee is final and binding.

Application Process

Application forms will be available from December 8, 2017.

Application Mode:
All applicants using online or offline mode must visit the page appstat.christuniversity.in. Register by entering your NAME (as printed on Class 10 Marks Card) EMAIL-ID and set password. (The email id and mobile number provided will be used for sending confirmation and application status-update messages).

Online mode:
To fill and submit application using online mode, log on to our website christuniversity.in and click on “Admissions”, proceed to click on the Application Status followed by appstat link appstat.christuniversity.in/. In the confirmation page click, on ‘Applications’ and click on the preferred programme.

Direct mode:
Application forms will be available at Office of Admission, Christ University, Central Block, Hosur Road, Bengaluru – 560029.

To fill and submit application using offline mode, log on to our website christuniversity.in and click on “Admissions”, proceed to click on the Application Status followed by appstat link appstat.christuniversity.in/ In the confirmation page click, on ‘Applications’ and click on the preferred programme.

Choose offline application and enter the Application No., which is printed on the top left corner of this page, and the Receipt No. printed on the receipt.
