JIPMER imparts Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and Super Specialty Medical Training through a working hospital (JIPMER Hospital) with bed strength of Sanctioned 2134 and a Nursing College. M.B.B.S., B.Sc., M.Sc., M.D., M.S, Degree Courses are offered in 43 disciplines.

Super Specialty departments of Cardiology, Neurology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Critical care, Neonatology, Clinical Immunology, Clinical Pharmacology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology, Endocrinology, Surgical Oncology and Surgical Gastroenterology also offer D.M./ M.Ch. Courses.

Full-time Ph.D. Programs are available in fifteen disciplines as on date. Master of Public Health (30 seats) Post Basic Diploma Courses in Nursing (50 Seats in five disciplines).

Eligibility Criteria

a. Candidates should be Indian Nationals & Overseas Citizens of India are also eligible. (OCI registered under section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955, should submit proof of Registrations OCI under section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955 at the time of admission failing which admission with stand cancelled)

b. Candidates should have passed M.D. / DNB Degree from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India.
c. Must be registered with Central /State Medical Registration Council.

How To Apply

1) Candidates seeking admission to entrance examination are required to apply on-line mode only. (Any other mode of application will not be accepted.)
2) Log on to link in the Home page jipmer.puducherry.gov.in. and navigate to the link “Apply on-line D.M./M.Ch./Fellowship admission – July 2018”.
3) Read the prospectus and instruction carefully.
4) The flow chart for filling application on-line given as Appendix (ANNEXURE – I) in the Prospectus.
5) The candidate should acquaint himself/herself with all requirements with regard to filling up the application on-line.

6) A CANDIDATE CAN APPLY ANY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COURSE, AMONG WHICH HE / SHE CAN CHOOSE ONLY ONE DISCIPLINE SUBJECT TO FULFILLING THE ESSENTIAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

If a candidate is applying for DM & Fellowship Course (OR) M.Ch & Fellowship course, He / She should appear in the separate entrance examination on 13th May 2018 as scheduled below:
D.M/M.Ch Course:- 10.00 A.M to 11.30 A.M
Fellowship Course:- 03.00 P.M to 04.30 P.M
Separate Merit list will be drawn for each course as well as discipline wise.
Candidate will be allowed to undergo training in only one Course. i.e DM (or) M.Ch (OR)
Fellowship Course. Dual course study is not allowed to any candidate i.e Candidate will not be allowed to do training two courses simultaneously

7) Candidates need NOT send hard copy of the application to the Institute.
