SVIMS Pattern of Examination

PATTERN OF EXAMINATION:
1. The computer based entrance test shall be conducted by Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati.
2. Each subject will have a separate question paper consists of 100 MCQs in the speciality concerned.

3. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes
4. All the questions will be of one best/ correct response type having four alternatives.
5. Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one mark.
6. There is no negative mark for incorrect response.
7. Zero mark will be given for the questions not answered.

8. Candidates indulging in malpractice during the entrance test will be disqualified. The malpractice information will be forwarded to Medical Council of India for necessary action in addition to the action taken by the institution.

9. The candidates appearing for entrance test will not be paid any dearness/ traveling allowance.

10. The question paper and provisional answer key will be released and placed in the institute as notified in the Admission Calendar.

11. The objections (if any) on the key will be received through e-mail: svimspget AT gmail.com upto 5.00 pm on the date notified in the Admission Calendar.

12. The final key and Merit list will be displayed in the official website of the institute on the date notified in the Admission Calendar.

MERIT LIST :
1. Selection of candidates for PG Super-specialty (DM/MCh) courses will be made on the basis of rank obtained in the entrance test.

2. The candidates who secured a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test will only be qualified to appear for the counseling.

3. Merit list will be prepared and rank shall be allotted in the order of merit based on the marks obtained in the entrance test.

4. In case of tie of marks in the entrance examination, the following criteria shall be adopted for fixing the merit.

i). A candidate who passed MD/MS/DNB in the first attempt or with less number of attempts will be given preference.

ii). If there is still a tie, the candidate who passed final MBBS (Part I & II) with less no. of attempts will be given preference.

iii). If there is still a tie, the candidate who secured higher percentage of marks (upto 2 decimal points) in final MBBS examination (Part-I & II) will be given preference.

iv). If there is still a tie, elder in age will be preferred.

Note: Mere permission to appear for the entrance test is not a guarantee for admission, unless he/she fulfils all the criteria as laid down in the prospectus at the time of counseling.
