What Is UG Design Aptitude Test?
National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad and its extension campuses at Gandhinagar & Bengaluru, is an ‘Institute of National Importance’ as per the NID Act 2014 as well as an autonomous Institute under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. The last date to apply for National Institute Of Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is 19th December with late fees.

Eligibility Criteria For UG Design Aptitude Test
All candidates applying for the B.Des. must fulfill the eligibility criteria of both age and education qualification as under.
** For Indian Nationals in General Category and General EWS Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 2003 are eligible to apply for admission.
** For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBCNCL), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST): Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 2000 are eligible to apply for admission.
** For Indian Nationals in PwD Reserved Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1998 are eligible to apply for admission.
** For Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 2003 are eligible to apply for admission.
Applications for academic year 2023-24 are open to candidates who have passed or will appear for higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations in the academic year 2022–23 in any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, Humanities etc.) from any recognized board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or equivalent.

Prelims For UG Design Aptitude Test
Stage 1: Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims
Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims will be conducted at various test centres across India
Candidates should note that appearing for the DAT Prelims or being shortlisted for the second stage of the admission process does NOT guarantee automatic entitlement to admission.
Stage 2: Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Mains
Candidates shortlisted after the DAT Prelims will be invited to appear for the Stage 2 DAT Mains. Exact details of the Test Centre will be announced later in the DAT Mains Admit Card.
Documents Required For UG Design Aptitude Test
** To accept the offer of admissions, overseas category candidates are required to produce the following documents along with their self-attested photocopies:
** Self-attested copy of the relevant pages of their valid passport.
** Self-attested copies of their grade sheets/mark sheets of SSC (Grade X) and HSC (Grade XII). Candidates in the process of completing their Grade XII must submit a bonafide certificate from their school or college.
** An equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, will have to be obtained in advance and required to be submitted at the time of the document scrutiny/in-person counselling, tentatively scheduled in May 2023.

** Accepting Application Forms online begins – Friday, 21 October 2022
** Last date for submitting online applications – Friday, 1600 hrs. 16 December 2022
** Submission of online applications with payment of late fees – Friday, 1800 hrs. 16 December to Monday, 1600 hrs. 19 December 2022
** Prelims Exam Date : Jan 22, 2023 (Sunday)
** Mains Exam Date : 29 April 2023 to 30 April 2023
