BITS Admission Test BITSAT

BITS Pilani invites applications to register for BITSAT-2024, the only online admission test for admissions to Integrated first degree (B.E., B.Pharm, and M.Sc.) programmes in its campuses at Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree (FD) programmes of BITS Pilani for its Campuses at Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad for the academic year 2024-25 will be made on the basis of a Computer based Online Test conducted by BITS Pilani. This test will be referred to as ‘BITS Admission Test – 2024’, in short as BITSAT-2024 hereafter in this document.

Eligibility of BITSAT

(i) For admission to all the above programmes except B. Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English.

(ii) For admission to B. Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCM may also apply for the Pharmacy programme.

Admissions to all the programmes are subject to the conditions given below:
** The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) in the 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology subjects.

** Only Students who are appearing for the 12th examination in 2024 or who have passed the 12th Examination in 2023 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2024 test. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in the 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.

** Students who have passed the 12th examination in 2022 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2024. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT-2024.

** Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2024. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the 12th examination, as mentioned above.

Test Format of BITSAT

Each session of BITSAT-2024 will be of 3 hours duration (without break), comprising the following 4 parts:
Part I : Physics
Part II : Chemistry
Part III : (a) English Proficiency and (b) Logical Reasoning
Part IV : Mathematics or Biology (For B.Pharm. candidates)

All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions); each question with a choice of four answers, only one being correct choice. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1 mark). No marks are awarded for questions not attempted. While the candidate can skip a question, the computer will not allow the candidate to choose more than one option as the correct answer.

There will be 130 questions in all. The number of questions in each part is as follows:

How to Apply for BITSAT?

** Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT-2024 by applying in the prescribed application form online. A candidate has to complete the application form online at http://www.bitsadmission.com and pay the prescribed fees. Also, take the printout of the filled-in form for your future reference.

** BITSAT will be conducted in two sessions, the prescribed fee for BITSAT-2024 for a candidate who chooses to appear twice will have to pay a sum of Rs. 5400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 4400 (for a female candidate).

** A candidate who originally opts to appear once (Session-1), will pay a fee of Rs. 3400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 2900 (for a female candidate). If such a candidate chooses then to apply to appear a second time (Session-2), then he/she will have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 2000 (for a male candidate) and Rs.1500 (for a female candidate). If a candidate opts to appear only for Session-2, will pay a fee of Rs. 3400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 2900 (for a female candidate).

** The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

If a candidate chooses Dubai as a test center for either Session-1 or Session-2, then the application fee for both male and female candidates will be Rs. 7000 (in INR). However, if the candidate wants to appear for both the sessions then the prescribed fee will be Rs. 9000. If a candidate who originally opts to appear once (Session-1) at Dubai Center and then apply to appear a second time (Session-2), then he/she will have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 2000 (in INR).

Read the below instructions carefully, before filling up the online application form. You are advised to take a printout of these instructions to refer to the same while filling out the online application form:
Apply online:
** Apply exclusively through the official BITS admission website (www.bitsadmission.com).
** BITSAT-2024 will be conducted two times (Session-1 and Session-2). Last date to apply for Session-1 or both the sessions is 11th April, 2024.

Application Form Submission:
** First REGISTER to obtain a system-generated, unique, 8-digit Application Number (or User ID) and Password. Note down this number for future correspondence.
** Use a valid Email-ID and Mobile Number, which must remain active until the admission process gets completed.
** Application Number and Password will be sent to the registered email address and mobile number. Overseas candidates will receive them only on the registered email address.
** Ensure accuracy in providing Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email Address, and Gender, as these details cannot be modified post-registration.

Form Printout:
** Upon completing the online form and payment, it is recommended to take a printout for future reference.

** After successful registration, you will receive the Application Number (or User ID) and Password on the registered Mobile number and Email ID.
** Click on the login link to fill the application.
** The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
