NBEMS Fellowship Entrance Test

The Government of India established the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in 1975. NBEMS conducts post graduate and post-doctoral examinations in approved disciplines leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board (DNB), Doctorate of National Board (DrNB) and Fellow of National Board (FNB). Single window entrance examination for admission to various Fellowship (FNB) Courses of NBEMS.

Important Dates of FET

Online Application Submission 19th January 2024 (3 PM Onwards) to 8th February 2024 (Till 11:55PM)
Edit Window for All Payment Success Applications (Any information/documents can be edited except Name, Nationality, Email, Mobile number and Test City) 9th February 2024 to 12th February 2024
Final Edit Window to rectify Deficient/Incorrect Images (No further opportunity shall be given) 19th February 2024 to 21st February 2024
Issue of Admit Card 27th February 2024
Examination Date 3rd March 2024
Cut Off Date for qualifying eligible PG qualification towards determination of eligibility for appearing in FET 2023 31st December 2023
Declaration of Result By 3rd April 2024

Eligibility Criteria of FET

The student must meet/fulfil the following criteria:
1. Students who are in possession of recognized post graduate medical Degree/Provisional Pass Certificate (MD/MS/DM/MCh/ DNB/DrNB) or an equivalent recognized qualification or likely to be in possession of the same by 31st December 2023 in accordance with eligible feeder qualifications for Fellowship courses as mentioned in Annexure B of this Information Bulletin can apply for FET 2023.

2. Students found to be ineligible at any stage of FET 2023 will not be permitted to appear in the examination. In an unlikely event of any ineligible student appearing and/or being successful in FET 2023, the result/ candidature of such student shall be cancelled and/or is deemed to be cancelled as and when the ineligibility is detected.

3. The cutoff date for qualifying MD/MS/DM/MCh/DNB/DrNB qualification towards determination of eligibility for appearing in
4. Requests for appearing in FET 2023 from students who are qualifying and/or getting the results of their MD/MS/DM/MCh/ DNB/DrNB qualifications after 31st December 2023 shall be summarily rejected.
5. Registration with NMC/State Medical Council is mandatory and its documentary proof should be furnished at the test Centre on the examination day.

6. Eligibility of students issued admit card for the examination shall be purely provisional and shall be determined at the time of admission/registration to the course. Appearing in FET 2023 does not confer any automatic rights upon the student for admission to FNB courses.

7. There is no upper age limit for training in NBEMS Fellowship courses.

Scheme of FET

1. The selection of a student will be through a MCQ based examination namely Fellowship Entrance Test.

2. The list of Fellowship courses offered to Indian and International Students through FET 2023 can be seen at Chapter 2. The prior entry qualifications i.e. feeder qualifications eligible for a particular fellowship course are detailed in Annexure – B to this information bulletin.

3. Scheme of FET 2023: A student can apply for the fellowship courses for which his/her broad or super specialty qualification/ equivalent qualification is eligible, at the time of online submission of the application form.

4. The total duration of the question paper will be 105 minutes (Part A – 45 minutes and Part B – 60 minutes).

5. Question Paper: There shall be a separate question paper for each fellowship course /clubbed group. Total number of questions in each question paper shall be 100 which shall be divided into two Parts; Part A & Part B.

How to Apply Online for FET?

The following sequence shall be observed while filing the online application form:
** Fill the user registration form to generate User ID/Application ID and Password.
** User ID and Password will be sent through SMS and Email.
** Complete the application form and upload your Photograph, Scanned signature, Thumb impression & Prescribed documents.
** Choose your Test City and pay Examination Fee
** Agree to the declaration and Submit Application
** Take a print out of the filled Application form with Transaction ID printed on it and payment status mentioned as “S” (Successful) for records.

** Application for FET 2023 can only be submitted online through National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences website https://natboard.edu.in There is no other methodology for application submission. Application submitted through any other mode shall be summarily rejected.

** Students who fail to submit duly completed applications with requisite documents and/or fail to rectify the deficiencies in the application by the last date prescribed for rectification shall be declared ineligible. Admit Card shall not be issued to students who are declared ineligible. In such cases, the entire fees will be forfeited.
