CUSAT Common Admission Test CAT

Admission to all Under Graduate & Post Graduate programmes are through the Common Admission Test (CAT 2024). The CUSAT CAT 2024 exam is a Computer Based Test and will be conducted on 10th, 11th and 12th May 2024. Refund of application fee is not allowed under any circumstances. Last Date for submission of Application is 26th February 2024.

Eligibility of Common Admission Test

ADMISSION TO UG / PG PROGRAMMES
The candidates who seek admissions to UG/PG programmes in CUSAT should apply for CAT through this portal. Applications in any other method will not be accepted.

MBA Applicants :
** Candidates need to register for CUSAT CAT-2024 through this portal and complete the application process.
** Candidates with a valid KMAT/CMAT/CAT(IIM)Score can apply for MBA programmes. These candidates will be ranked on the basis of KMAT/CMAT/CAT(IIM) Score, Group Discussion and Interview.
** Candidates, without valid score for the time being can register now and they will be provided the opportunity to enter the valid score of KMAT & CMAT before the closure of the application for the MBA program of SMS, CUSAT.

BTech Marine Engineering Applicant :
** Students who wish to get admission for BTech Marine Engineering at KMSME in CUSAT, should register for CAT 2024, select Programme B.Tech and complete the center selection step also.
** The applicants need to appear for the Common Entrance Test conducted by Indian Maritime University (IMU) and the admission shall be based on the IMU rank. For more details click here.

M.Tech Applicant :
** Preference will be given to candidates with valid GATE score in the respective subject. In the absence of candidates with valid GATE score
** Candidates without GATE score will be admitted on the basis of their performance in Department Admission Test (DAT) to be conducted by the Departments concerned.

ADMISSION TO Ph.D/PDF/ DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES :
For admissions to Ph.D/ Diploma programmes in CUSAT need not apply online through this portal. The application will be available from the Departments concerned. For details, please check the website cusat.ac.in/academics Click Here for Department Contact Numbers.

Application Fees of Common Admission Test

1. For candidates opting State Merit /All India Quota seats (other than NRI/ Inter- national / PIO / Children of Indian Gulf Workers) application fee to appear for a maximum of two test codes is Rs.1200 (Rupees One Thousand Two hundred only) and for Kerala SC/ Kerala ST candidates to appear for a maximum of two test codes is Rs.600/- (Rupees Six Hundred only).

For each additional test code Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) for general candidates and Rs.250/- for KSC/KST candidates. Candidates applying for multiple M.Tech. and MBA programmes need to pay the application fees as given above and need not pay any additional Tests fees, as there is no CAT for these programmes.

2. For seats reserved for International Candidates/PIO: US $ 110 (One Hundred and Ten US Dollars only)(Rs.9100/- for ICCR scholars).

3. For candidates belonging to Children of Indian Gulf Workers (CGW) category:
To appear for a maximum of two test codes is Rs.6200/- (Rupees Six Thousand Two Hundred only). In the case of CGW candidates belonging to KSC/KST to appear for a maximum of two test codes application fee will be Rs.5600/- (Rupees Five Thousand Six Hundred Only). For each additional test code Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) for general candidates and Rs.250/- for KSC/KST candidates.

4. For candidates (except CGW candidates) opting for NRI Seats : additional Rs.5,000 (Rupees Five Thousand only) has to be paid in addition to the fees specified under clause 1. CGW candidates who wish to apply under NRI category need not pay any additional amount.

5. For PhD Programmes:
Rs.1200/- for all category of applicants except Kerala SC / Kerala ST and Rs.600 for Kerala SC/ST Candidates to be remitted by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, CUSAT payable at Ernakulam and to be submitted to the respective Departments/ Schools where the candidate intends to apply for PhD Programme to obtain the Application Forms.

6. For Postdoctoral Fellowships, Diploma and Certificate Programmes:
Rs.150/- (Rupees One Hundred and Fifty only) and Rs.50/- (Rupees fifty only) for Kerala SC/ST Can- didates is to be remitted by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, CUSAT payable at Ernakulam and the DD is to be submitted to the respective Departments/Schools where the candidate intends to apply for the Programme to obtain the Application Forms.

How to Apply Online for CAT?

Online Registration for Academic Admission 2024-25 is a multi-step process. Before starting online registration read CAT – 2024 prospectus carefully.
STEP 1 : Registration
Click “NEW CANDIDATE REGISTRATION ”button and submit details.All fields are mandatory.After submission of details, an activation link will be sent to the email address provided by the candidate. Email account once used/activated cannot be used again. On clicking the activation link (obtained in the email inbox), the user account will be activated.The user name will be candidate’s email address.

STEP 2: Personal Details and Reservation
Read instructions carefully.Then click start Registration button. Fill all personal details required in the form. In case of any doubt, please read relevent part of prospectus once again. If the candidate wishes to claim any special reservation,the same is to be selected in the left list box and move to the right box using ’select’ button.

STEP 3 : Photo and Signature
Upload a recent passport size photograph of yourself (taken within the last six months) your well-lit face clearly visible, in portrait orientation, in a light colour background. The file size of your photograph should not be larger than 500kb. The dimensions of the photo should be 150px X 180px.

Upload a scanned image of your signature, in landscape orientation, with a file size not greater than 100kb. The dimensions should be 130px X 57px. The image format can be .png or .jpg or .jpeg.
