ASTU Combined Entrance Examination

Combined Entrance Examination (CEE)-2024 For admission into 4-year Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) Programmes in the State of Assam. The Combined Entrance Examination (CEE), 2024 for admission to B.Tech. programme in the colleges of Assam shall be conducted by the Assam Science and Technology University. The CEE-2024 will be conducted as per the syllabus of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council.

Eligibility of Combined Entrance Exam

To be eligible for admission to any of the colleges a candidate must fulfill the following conditions:
i The applicant must be an Indian Citizen.
ii. The applicant must be a Permanent resident of Assam [with a valid PRC of Assam issued by the competent authority].

iii. Applicants who wish to be considered for the Central Government Employee Quota must submit proof of their permanent residency from the conserved state authorities outside of Assam [For details, please refer Counselling Guidelines-2024, to be issued by the Directorate of Technical Education(DTE), Guwahati, Assam].

iv. Candidate must pass the Qualifying Examination (10+2 standard) in single sitting, without any grace marks in the Mandatory of the relevant subjects/ courses at 10+2 level and also must be passed individually both in Theory & Practical.

v. Candidate must secure a minimum of 45 % (40 % in case of candidates belonging to reserved category in the subjects taken together) in the Qualifying Examination (10+2 standards) as per AICTE Approval Process Hand Book-2024-2027 (Refer Annexure I).
OR
Candidates who have passed 3-years Diploma in Engineering & Technology under State Council for Technical Education, Assam, with 45% (40% for reserved category) marks in the Final Diploma Examination [ All other eligibility criteria will be same as per Sl. No. 14.].

vi. The candidate must not be below 17 years or above 21 years of age as on 1st August, 2024.
The upper age limit mentioned in (vii) above is relaxed upto 22 years in the case of B.Sc. passed Candidates.
The upper age limit mentioned in (vii) above is relaxed by 3 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates.

vii. The Candidate must possess a good moral character. (Certificate from the head of Institute last attended to be submitted).
viii. The Candidates must be physically and mentally fit. (Medical Certificate from the Medical Officer / Medical Practitioner to be submitted.)

Application Fees of Combined Entrance Exam

An Application Fee of Rs. 1100/- (Eleven Hundred) only is to be paid online, which facilitate payment through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. Assam Science and Technology University shall not accept hard copy of the Application Form and any other documents. Fee once paid, is not refundable.

How to Apply for CEE?

Candidates must apply through online application form. Candidates are advised to read the instructions for filling up the online application form. The applicants must possess required criteria and educational qualification as mentioned in the information brochure, failing which candidature shall be disqualified at the time of counseling.

Steps and precautions to be taken while filling up of application form for CEE-2024:
a) A computer with good Internet connectivity.

b) A recent passport size colour photograph of the candidate should be uploaded in the space indicated in the online application form. Size of the photograph must be less than 35 kb, height of the photograph between 250 pixels to 320 pixels and width of the photograph must be between 150 pixels to 220 pixels. Size of Signature must be less than 30kb, height of the signature must be between 100 pixels to 180 pixel and width of the signature must be between 150 pixels to 220 pixels. The photograph and signature should be either in ‘.jpeg’ or ‘.jpg’ format.

c) Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 15 kb-30kb).
d) A valid e-mail id as all communication will be made on this e-mail id, if necessary.
e) A valid mobile number as information via SMS will be sent to the number, if necessary.
f) A valid debit/credit card or Net banking account.
g) A printer connected to the system of the applicant to print confirmation page(s).
h) Download Information Brochure. Read it carefully to ensure your eligibility and acquaint with the requirements for submission of Online Application Form.

i) No correction can be made at a later stage after submission of an application. No change will be accepted through Post/Fax/ email / By Hand etc. No change in the category will be entertained after the last date for submission of CEE-2024 application form and no subsequent changes will be effective after declaration of CEE-2024 Results.

Pattern of Combined Entrance Examination

Candidates should note the following:
Paper shall be of 3 (three) hours duration and shall contain 120 multiple choice questions. For every correct answer, 4 (four) marks will be awarded and 1 (one) mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. There shall be no marks, in case, the candidate selects more than one option in the answer sheet. CEE-2024 will be based on Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) Syllabus.

The examination will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type and comprise of a Single Paper of 3 (three) hours duration with following distribution:
a) Mathematics 40 Questions
b) Physics 40 Questions
c) Chemistry 40 Questions

Important Dates of CEE

Opening of online application submission portal: 14th March, 2024
Last Date for online submission of Applications: 3rd April, 2024
Issue of Admit cards online: will be available from 15 days before and upto the date of examination.
CEE-2024 examination date: 2nd June, 2024 (Sunday)
Examination Timing: 11:00AM-02:00 P.M.
Declaration of results: within 10 days of conduct of examination
Results will be published in the website: www.astu.ac.in
