SVURESET-2015 :
FOR ADMISSION INTO Ph.D. PROGRAMME FOR THE YEAR 2015-16 :

Note: All the eligible candidates who are interested shall submit the application through online from the

** SVU Research Entrance Test (SVURESET-2015) is being conducted for admission into research programme leading to Ph.D. in different disciplines in S.V. University Colleges (campus), Tirupati, SV University College of Engineering, Tirupati, Colleges affiliated to SV University and Research Institutions/Laboratories with recognized supervisors for the year 2015-16. Ph.D. degree programme shall be pursued either on full-time or part-time basis in the concerned subject of post graduation.

** Admission for qualified candidates is subject to availability of seat. The tentative number of seats available are given in the Appendix-I.
(1) The Candidates who were admitted provisionally for Ph.D under RGNF/ DST Inspire / Moulana Azaad National / Kasturbha / Project fellow in SVU Campus etc., have to apply for SVURESET-2015. They have to qualify either NET / APSET / SVURESET for conformation within 2 years failing which their registration will be cancelled.

** Candidates holding M.Phil. degree should also qualify in the SVURESET for admission into Ph.D in the concerned discipline.

** Interdisciplinary Research: A candidate for the Ph.D. degree may undertake interdisciplinary research in the University Colleges. Such candidates may register for Ph.D. degree under joint guidance of two teachers of the University Colleges. He/She shall work in the department where the main research supervisor is working. He/She shall have a “Co-guide” from any other relevant discipline. He/She shall be awarded the degree in the concerned subject.

** External Guide: A Candidate can register with an external guide from affiliated Colleges recognized by S.V. University or National Laboratories/ Research Institutions with or without a “co-guide” from S.V. University Colleges. Such candidates will be registered in the Department of the subject concerned SVU College in which he/she obtained the Master’s degree. However such candidates will work with the respective supervisors in the concerned affiliated college/National Laboratories/Industries.

** The decision of the University Research Committee (URC) is final in all matters related to research admissions.

2. ELIGIBILITY FOR TAKING THE ENTRANCE TEST :
a) Candidate who have passed the PG Course in the academic year 2013-14 or earlier are only eligible.
b) Candidates who have secured at least a Second Class with 55% or above marks in Master’s degree of S.V University in the concerned discipline or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto by SV University, are eligible to apply. However, a relaxation of 5% of marks is allowed to SC/ST Candidates.
c) For Ph.D. programme in Engineering, a candidate should have passed Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology with First class either at Under-Graduate level or Post-Graduate level.
d) Candidates applied for full-time are eligible only for full-time Ph.D.
e) Candidates applied for Part-time are eligible for Ph.D. as follows
** For part time Ph.D candidates should enclose Xerox copy of the service certificate and first page of service register.
** If the part time applicants wish to join in full time Ph.D, at the time of admission he should submit resignation and relieving letter from the concerned organization.
f) The Candidates who were admitted provisionally for Ph.D under RGNF/DST Inspire / Moulana Azaad National / Kasturbha / Project fellow in SVU Campus etc., have to apply for SVURESET-2015. They have to qualify either NET / APSET / SVURESET for conformation within 2 years failing which their registration will be cancelled.
g) Retired employees can pursue full time research in the concerned subject of post graduation.

3. HOW TO APPLY :
The Instruction Booklet can be downloaded from the website www.svudoa.in. The eligible candidates have to submit the application through online by paying Rs. 1,000/- through I-Collect /Payment gateway / Debit card / Credit card and generated challan. The copy of the filled in application with necessary certificates should be submitted either in person or sent by registered post so as to reach on or before 04-04-2015 @ 5.00 pm. to the following address

Incomplete applications will be rejected. Applications received after the specified date will be summarily rejected and the cost of application will not be refunded. The Director is not responsible for any postal delay or loss in postal transit.

4. CERTIFICATES TO BE ENCLOSED ALONG WITH APPLICATION
Each printed copy of the online application should be submitted along with the following enclosures.
** You preserve a copy of it until your admission process is completed.
a) Xerox copy of P.G. Degree/Provisional Pass Certificate
b) Xerox copy of P.G. Marks Statements
c) Xerox copy of Degree/B.Tech. & Intermediate pass certificates
d) Xerox copy of Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST/BC candidates
e) Xerox copy of service certificate and first page of the service register (SR) for part-time Ph.D candidates.

PARTICULARS OF THE ENTRANCE TEST :
a) SVURESET-2015 will be held at Tirupati only the date of entrance examination will be notified in the website www.svudoa.in.
b) The test is of 1 hour 30 minutes duration with 100 multiple choice questions carrying one mark for each question.
c) The syllabus for the entrance test is the PG Syllabus of S.V. University for the subject concerned.
d) The syllabus may be downloaded from the website www.svudoa.in.
e) The question paper is divided into two parts Part-A and Part-B.
f) Part-A consists of 20 multiple choice questions related to General Aptitude. This is common for all. Part-B is related to specific subject of the candidate qualified. This test consists of 80 multiple choice questions.
6. QUALIFYING MARKS IN THE ENTRANCE TEST
A candidate seeking admission into Ph.D (Full-time/Part-time) shall have to qualify in the SVURESET-2015 and obtain a minimum of 50 marks in the entrance test. However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, the minimum shall be 45 marks.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE :
a) Qualifying in the entrance test alone does not guarantee a seat.
b) All admissions will be made by the Directorate of Admissions only.
c) The admissions will be made based on merit following the usual rules of reservation.
d) The Principal of the College concerned will issue the proceedings for constituent colleges, affiliated colleges and research laboratories.
e) In case of a tie in the SVURESET marks, the marks obtained in part-B will be taken as criteria. In case of further tie, the date of birth is taken as criteria.
f) At the time of admissions the candidate (for both full-time and part-time research) shall submit his/her original Transfer Certificate (TC) along with other relevant certificates, failing which the candidate will not be admitted.
