NMIMS National Test For Programs

B.Tech
Eligibility criteria :
** Candidate must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examination including IB Diploma (IB certificate awarded is not eligible) with English as compulsory subject & with science or science vocational & minimum 50% marks in PCM for Mumbai campus & 45% marks in PCM for Shirpur campus. Those awaiting their 10+2 or equivalent examination result this year may also apply. Candidate with IB Diploma is eligible only if he/she has offered Mathematics at higher level (HL)

Candidates passing Diploma Engineering with Minimum 50 % is eligible to apply
** Candidates passing 10+2 or equivalent examination from Open or Distance learning (ODL) School recognized only by National Institute of Open schooling (NIOS) can apply for the program Subject to fulfilling the eligibility of the program & Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination in part-time mode or through distance learning/correspondence/externally/open school other than NIOS are not eligible to apply for the courses.
** Candidates should present single marksheet. Candidates passing 10+2 or equivalent examination compartment are not eligible.


Note (for IB & Cambridge Candidate): Candidates called for admission counseling on the basis of NPAT merit list & who have not received final marksheet till then will be given “Provisional Admission”based on predicted score. Fees will be accepted from such candidates but their admission will be confirmed only on submission of final marksheet before the commencement of the program if found eligible.
** Candidates appearing for their final 10+2 or equivalent examination can also apply provided they should obtaining the required minimum cut off marks and also producing all the necessary documents, in original, within the stipulated time by the University
** Those candidates who have passed, or, are appearing for 10+2 examination from a Board/University where Grade Point Average is given, such candidates must produce in writing from the Board/University concerned ,the equivalent percentage for the GPA obtained.
** Candidates of CBSE,ICSE,Should mention in online application form 10th /10+2 or equivalent aggregate marks of all subjects for which candidate has appeared for (not best of Four,Five,Six or seven)
** Candidate above 25 years of age are not eligible to apply.
** It is sole responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they possess necessary and requisite qualification for the admission to the courses at NMIMS.
** NMIMS reserves the right to alter the terms of eligibility

Once you select the exam center, change of center for NPAT 2015 will not be permitted.

Structure of the Test –NPAT 2015 :
The NPAT 2015 for would be an objective type multiple-choice test. (There will be no descriptive type of questions).
The NPAT 2015 will comprise of 3 major parts as follows:
For each Question for which a wrong answer is marked, 1/4th of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted as penalty.
Type of questions and difficulty level of Tests will be on SAT Pattern

As per our standard practice, the scores across various sessions will be equated to adjust for slight differences in difficulty level of different test items used across sessions.

Guidelines for physically challenged candidates :
Physically Challenged will include following (as per Person with Disability ACT of India)
1.Visually Challenged
2. Leprosy-cured
3. Hearing impairment
4. Loco motor disability
5. Cerebral palsy
6. Learning Disability / Dyslexia
Candidates who wish to request for assistance must fill in the details in the online application while registering. The candidate must scan their Disability Certificate and email it together with their NPAT ID and name, to NPATspecialrequirements AT nmims.edu at the time of online registration. Any request and/or certificate received after the closure of Registration Application will not be accepted and the candidate will have to appear for the test without any assistance in spite of their special status.

  1. If you clear the NPAT and get selected , do you still have the personal interview or group discussion?

    1. Selection process :
      Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the performance of the candidate in NPAT
      Candidates will be called for counseling session at Mumbai based on the merit list.
      In the counseling session candidates will be given admission to various disciplines as per their merit, choice and availability of discipline as per eligibility criteria.
      The decision of the institute will be final in this regard and no inquiries or correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
