Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Open University admits the candidates into Under-Graduate Programmes through two streams:
(i) Formal Stream – Candidates who passed Intermediate from Board of Intermediate Education / Intermediate through National Open School / Equivalent examination can take direct admission into UG programmes; &
(ii) Non-Formal Stream – Candidates without any of the formal educational qualifications mentioned above, but completed 18 years of age as on 01-07-2016 are eligible to appear for Eligibility Test (ET) conducted by the University.

Candidates who pass the ET can seek admission into UG Programmes. The main objective behind the establishment of Dr. BRAOU is to provide higher educational opportunities to the people who couldn’t continue their education through conventional mode / those who discontinued their studies due to various reasons.

The University makes use of multimedia instructional components like providing print material in self-instructional style to the students, organising face-to-face contact-cum-counselling classes on Sundays at the Study Centres, broadcasting / telecasting lessons through AIR, Doordarshan – 8, etc., to reach the students. The University has a network of 214 study centres (including 23 Regional Coordination Centres). ALL THE PROGRAMMES OF THE UNIVERSITY ARE RECOGNISED BY DISTANCE EDUCATION BUREAU (DEB), UGC, NEW DELHI.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Candidates who do not possess Intermediate OR its Equivalent Qualification are eligible to appear for the Eligibility Test for seeking admission into the First Year of the B.A/B.Com/B.Sc( 3 YEAR Under Graduate Degree Programmes) for the Academic Year 2016-17, provided they attain the age of 18 years by 1st July 2016. Candidates who do not complete 18 years by 1st July are not eligible to appear for the Eligibility Test.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR ELIGIBILITY TEST :
a) Candidates who wish to appear for Eligibility Test shall register through “On-line” from our own website i.e., braouonline.in.
b) Choose the Study/Examination Centre where you want to appear for ET. and collect the Information Brochure ET-2016 (Free of Cost) from the Study Centre and read it carefully.
c) Approach the nearby Study Centre with all the documents required, along with a latest passport size photo.
d) Provide the required information through University website and fill your ET-2016 Registration form “On-line” and upload photo and signature.
e) Pay Rs.200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) by debit/credit card through University online or Rs.210/-(Rupees Two Hundred and Ten Only) at the On-line Franchisee Centre towards Registration Fee and obtain receipt.
f) Collect a print out of Registration Form from the University website and retain it for your reference along with fee payment receipt.

a) Commencement of Registration : 22nd January 2016
b) Last Date for Registration : 15th March 2016
c) Last Date for Registration With a late fee of Rs.100/- : 31st March 2016
d) Date and Time of Eligibility Test : 17th April 2016 (Sunday) (10.00 a.m to 12.30.p.m.)
