Diploma Admission :

The common admission to 1st year Diploma for Government / Aided and private polytechnics who have surrendred their seats will be conducted by Department Of Technical Education (DTE) for the Year 2017-18.

The prescribed Application Form along with the Information Brochure will be available in KEA & DTE websites kea.kar.nic.in & dte.kar.nic.in respectively. Candidates shall download the Application Form and Brochure from the website and fill up the Application as per the instructions.

Candidates shall then remit the prescribed Application Registration Fee amount (GM & others Rs. 100/- ; SC/ST/Cat-I Rs. 50/-) in any branch of STATE BANK OF INDIA to the account mentioned in the table below and obtain the counterfoil of the challan.

Filled Application forms along with the relevant original documents and counterfoil of the bank challan should be produced in person to the nearest “Document Verification Cum OnLine Application Submission Centers” on or before the last date.

After verification of original documents, the application will be submitted online in presence of candidate. And the original documents returned after verification, from the “Document Verification Cum Online Application Submission Centers”. A printed copy of application submitted online and Acknowledgement Card will be issued to the eligible candidates.

The candidates shall submit one set of self attested copies of all documents. The eligible candidates merit list will be announced in the KEA & DTE websites kea.kar.nic.in & dte.kar.nic.in respectively and also SMS will be sent to the candidate registered Mobile No.

The schedule for online interactive counseling as per the merit and seat selection by the candidates will be as per Annxure-XVI at 11 “Online Interactive Counselling cum Admission Nodal Center” across the state. After selection of seats the candidates have to pay the prescribed in cash and obtain admission order and report to the seat allotted polytechnic before the last date.

All candidates should visit KEA & DTE websites kea.kar.nic.in & dte.kar.nic.in frequently for information about brochure, seat matrix and updated informations.
NOTE: These Instructions are issued based on prevailing Admissions Rules & Regulations of the Government.

ELIGIBILITY:
(a) The candidate must be a citizen of India,
(b) Educational Qualification For Engineering Courses
should have passed Karnataka S.S.L.C or equivalent examination by securing 35% marks in aggregate;

(c) Educational Qualification For Non-Engineering Courses
1) · Commercial Practice
· Apparel Design & Fabrication Technology
· Modern office Management
Should have passed Karnataka S.S.L.C or Equivalent Examination by securing 35% marks in aggregate.

2) · Library Science and Information
Management
Should have passed Karnataka P.U.C-II or Equivalent examination by securing 35% marks in aggregate.

(d) For both Engineering & Non-Engineering, the candidate should have completed atleast five full academic years of study in Karnataka between 1st Standard and qualifying examination (study of one class for one year will be treated as one academic year).

(e) Candidates who have passed the 10th Standard Exam conducted by CBSE/ICSE and other states 10th Standard candidates shall produce Eligibility Certificates obtained from the Secretary, Board of Technical Examinations, Palace Road, Bangalore – 560 001 at the time of document verification & online application submission process.

Eligibility for admission to Evening Polytechnic:
In addition to the eligibility mentioned in Sl. No.02 (a), (b), (d) & (e) above The candidate should have minimum three years of experience in respective Technical field after passing SSLC as on the 01-07-2017 and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) given by the employer must be produced at the time of admission to part-time diploma course in the prescribed format (See Annexure-IV).

Explanation: – Professional Experience means:
1) Experience earned by the candidate working under Government Registered Class-I contractors of the Civil or Electrical Department and Certified to that effect by the contractor concerned,
Or
2) Employed on regular basis and presently working:
a) In Government, Government undertaking, Public Sector Undertaking, Corporation; or
b) In a Private concern registered under the Directorate of Industries and Commerce or the Directorate of Small Scale Industries ;or
c) In a Private Limited Company; or
d) In Government, Government recognized Institutions as Technical Staff. The period of Apprenticeship Training undergone shall also be treated as Professional Experience, if sponsored by the Board of Apprenticeship Training, Southern Region, Chennai.

Further, the employment shall be in an establishment situated within the Urban agglomeration area of the city in which the Professional Institution is situated.

Schedule for Document verification cum online application submission :
A . For candidates belonging to special category (5(2)rule):
Special category seats : Candidates claiming the benefit under various Special categories{5(2)} rule, should produce the relevant original Special category certificates along with TWO sets of photocopies COMPULSORILY on the dates notified below, to the respective centers mentioned in Annexure XV IN PERSON ONLY on stipulated date for verification.

Before coming for special category certificates verification, the candidates seeking seats under this quota should have got verified all other original documents and submit application online in the near by “ONLINE DOCUMENT VERIFICATION CENTERS CUM ONLINE APPLICATION SUBMISSION CENTERS” (See Annexure X-III) and obtain copy of application submitted online and acknowledgement card.

B. Others
Candidates who seek admission to Government seats should compulsorily produce the required documents in ORIGINAL with ONE set of self attested copies of all documents.

Candidates falling under various other categories like GM, SC,ST, CAT-1, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB shall attend in person as per schedule in Annexure XVI for online interactive counselling and seat selection at the near by “Online Interactive Counselling cum Admission Nodal Center”.
