Online admission test for admission into UG, PG programs in Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy.

Eligibility Criteria

Pass in intermediate or 12th examination from a recognized central / state board or its equivalent either in 2018 or 2017 and also rank obtained in GAT (UGTP) – 2018, subject to the following criteria:
B.Tech. programs: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry and first class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
B.Tech. in Biotechnology: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry and first class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
B.Pharmacy: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination with Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects.
B.Arch: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry subjects and also shall qualify in NATA / JEE (Main).

Apply Online

1. Carefully read GAT-2018 brochure contained information, before proceed to apply online. You can download brochure or go through online to read the content. Click here
2. Read all the instructions and eligibility criteria for admission test before proceeding to fill the online application form.
3. Advised to take a print out of instructions so as to enable you to fill the online application form.
4. Registration Fee: The registration fee for GAT-2018 is Rs. 1,000/- for Boys and Rs. 600/- for Girls.

5. Online Application Procedure: It involves 3 steps:
Step1: Fill the Online Application Form:
The candidate should furnish all the details while filling the Online Application Form. After successful submission of the data, Application number will be generated and this can be used to complete the next step of the application form and also for your future reference.

Step2: Upload of Photograph:
** Upload your recent passport size color photograph (Not older than 3 months).
** The scanned image of photograph should be in jpg/jpeg format.
** Size of the photo image must be more than 4 kb and less than 50 kb.
** Dimension of photograph image should be 4 cm (width) x 4 cm (Height).

NOTE: There is an option to modify / change the details in the online application form even before proceed to payment. Once the electronic payment is done towards registration, you will not be accessed again to change the filled-in application form.

Step3: Payment of Registration Fee through online:
Electronic Payment by Debit Card /Credit Card/Net banking:
** The candidate has to select Debit Card /Credit Card/ Net Banking option for e-payment. After successful paymentof registration fee, you will be accessed to take printout of the acknowledgment.
Or
Payment of registration fee through Demand Draft:
** After filling the application form online, you are required to take two copies of print-out of the filled-in application form.

Send one copy of the filled-in application along with Demand Draft (Rs. 1000/- for Boys or Rs. 600/- for Girls) drawn in favor of GITAM payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank by Registered post / Speed post / Courier to the DIRECTOR-ADMISSIONS, GITAM deemed to be UNIVERSITY, GANDHINAGAR CAMPUS, RUSHIKONDA, VISAKHAPATNAM–530045, ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA on or before 26th March, 2018.

Write the application number on the reverse side of the Demand Draft. You can keep the second copy of printout of the filled-in application form for your future reference.

Note: The candidate will be registered for GAT – 2018, after receiving the above said printout of online filled-in application form along with DD only.
6. Enter the application number for taking the printout of online registered application form / acknowledgement at outside source. Click here
7. For best view use Internet Explorer while filling the application online, do not use the ‘Back’ button on the tool bar of your browser. Use the links and buttons available on the page to movefrom one page to other. Advised to close all the open browser windows after the complete process of online application to avoid unauthorized access.
8. If the candidate is desired to apply online, click on I Agree button.

About GAT – 2018

** Candidates should arrive at the examination centre one hour before the scheduled time. There will be an on-site orientation before the examination commences. If a candidate arrives after the on- site orientation begins, he/ she will not be allowed to take the examination. If candidates do not report on time, they are likely to miss some of the general instructions relating to the examination. The examination hall will be opened 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.

** The candidate is expected to have basic familiarity with use of computer like use of keyboard and mouse operation. It is the responsibility of the candidate to acquire these skills before appearing for the examination and the Institution cannot take any responsibility in this matter.

** The questions are generated from a large question bank and all the candidates will get different question sets. An expert committee will ensure that the question sets are of equal standard level, content, question type, etc. In this matter, the decision of the Institution is final and binding on the candidate.

** The candidate must ensure that the computer allotted to him/ her is switched on and any problem with the computer is to be intimated to the proctor immediately. All the questions will be in English medium only. All the questions will be of multiple choice.
** Each question carries 4 marks. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer. The unanswered questions will receive nil marks.
** On completion of the examination, the computer will display the result in terms of number of total correct answers and wrong answers and the net score.
** No student will be allowed to repeat the examination in the same year.
** The method adopted for resolving ties shall be in the order of scores in mathematics / biology, physics, chemistry and age of the candidate.
** The ranks secured by the candidates will be announced within 10 days from the date of completion of GAT – 2018.
